Karthi is an Indian film actor who mainly appears in Tamil films. He is the younger son of film actor Sivakumar and Lakshmi. He has 2 sibilings one elder brother Suriya who is also a film actor and younger sister Brindha. He has obtained bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Crescent Engineering College, Chennai.

In 2011, he married Chennai based girl Ranjini .They tied the knot on 3 July 2011.The couple are blessed with a daughter Umayaal.

He made his debut in 2007 with Paruthiveeran movie, where he played the title role. He became popular for his roles in Aayirathil Oruvan as Muthu, Paiyaa as Siva, Naan Mahaan Alla as Jeeva Prakasam and in Siruthai as Rathnavel Pandian. He was last seen as Kombaya Pandian in Komban.

He will next be seen in Dosth, Kashmora and Komaali.
